19 Jan Workshop on financing Life Sciences startups, Basel, March 5
Financing Biotech startups usually requires interacting with venture capital investors since the financial resources need to succeed exceeds what founders can summon up and bank loans are not applicable. This means dealing with terms such as liquidation preference, ESOPs or fully diluted shares. For startups seeking equity based financing it is of uttermost interest to understand this language and know about the specifics of negotiation with venture capital investors.
The seminar on March 5 at Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area AG (Gewerbestrasse 24) in Allschwil will give founders and people thinking about founding a biotech startup an interactive introduction into equity based financing. Furthermore, the participants will work on a case study of a series A financing round. They will develop a term sheet dealing with the specifics of venture capital financing.
The seminar will be given by Ruedi Gygax, a CTI start-up coach and former Managing Director of the Novartis Venture Fund as well as former Managing Partner of Nextech Invest. Furthermore, the seminar will be accompanied by Peter Kresta from KSP, an entrepreneur and management consultant, among others, in the area of biotech financing.
