Sharpen your pitch

A strong and compelling pitch of your science is critical for your company’s survival. 

                                      
This workshop will provide you with the essential tools, techniques and skills to ensure your pitch is effective from both content and delivery perspective. On the content side, you will learn to identify the right messages that are relevant and targeted to your audience and to build a well-structured and engaging presentation. Media training techniques you will teach you to handle your stakeholders’ most difficult questions. On the delivery side, you will understand how you come across so you can put your best foot forward and pitch in a more confident and powerful way.

This BaselArea.swiss workshop, designed for life science startups, will be intense, interactive and a great opportunity to improve your communication skills. The workshop is particularly invaluable for your interactions with pharma companies, VCs, private and institutional investors, and potential partners.

Requirements:
Participants must come prepared with the following:
– A three-minute pitch about your life science company
– A device to video record yourself (Phone, IPad, etc.)

Startup projects are preferred
Please include a short description of the project for which you would like to attend the workshop.

Participation in the workshop is free of charge, but registration with project description by 5th March 2020 is required.

 

Facilitator

O’Patrick Wilson is the owner and managing partner of O public relations. O’Patrick started his career working as a journalist in New York as a freelance writer and also learning the ropes by doing stints for Time Magazine and ABC News in Rome, Italy. He received his M.S. degree in Journalism at Columbia University in New York. He has become increasingly sought after for facilitating workshops and 1:1 coaching on media training and presenting with an emphasis on messaging, engagement and storytelling, and developing communication strategies to achieve business objectives.


Prior to opening O public relations, O’Patrick was Head of Internal & External Communications for Syngenta International AG in Switzerland. O’Patrick has also held senior communication roles for Ciba Specialty Chemicals in North America and Hitachi in Tokyo and New York.


O public relations has a 15-year track record as a communications consultancy in Switzerland with experience from working with startups and small biotechs as well as Abbott, Amgen, AstraZeneca, Genentech, Ferring, Novartis, Roche, Swiss Re and Syngenta.
